The 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held in London, with the opening ceremony on July 27.
The Games will be the third time that London will host this sporting and cultural event.
Besides the Olympics, the regeneration of London's Lower Lea Valley and its Aquatics Centre and Velo Park enhance London's tourist potential.
Other major developments include Wembley Stadium, The Power Station (Battersea), the O2 (formerly the Dome), London Bridge Tower, the Channel Tunnel Rail Link and Crossrail.
