Two major movies were filmed in the Eastern England county of Lincolnshire. A new version of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, starred Keira Knightley and Dame Judi Dench. The Elizabethan stately home, Burghley House, and the nearby historic town of Stamford are two of the film locations.
Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks visited Lincoln Cathedral, which doubled as London's Westminster Abbey, in the big-screen version of Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code.
Pride and Prejudice also filmed in the county of Derbyshire, farther west, while Da Vinci Code also used Rosslyn Chapel, near Edinburgh, which is featured in the novel.
