Zurich Switzerland's film festival will focus on first-time works and offer young talent the opportunity to introduce themselves. Held October 5 to 9, 2005, the Film Festival culminates in the presentation, by an international jury, of the Golden Eye award for the best first film director. Internationally renowned speakers will host workshops and panel discussions, in cooperation with the University of Art and Design Zurich.
Other film series, all with English subtitles, will range from works on extreme sports and a Werner Fassbinder retrospective, through to animated films by onedotzero. Onedotzero has toured the world with resounding success and has made a name for itself as the talent scout for up-and-coming directors. Star directors, such as Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich), were discovered and promoted by onedotzero.
