Grand Old House, one of Grand Cayman's finest dining establishments for nearly three decades, will host the First Annual Grand Old House Rum Festival in October 2005.
Beginning October 13, the three-day event will feature tasting and dining with the top rum producers and blenders in the world, a Cuban art presentation, and a hole-in-one golf tournament with a US $50,000 prize. A highlight of the weekend is the Saturday night rum-infused market buffet, which will conclude with salsa and meringue dancing under the stars.
Organized by the Slow Food Convivium, the event features workshops with rum educators, cooking classes and sampling. Admission ranges from $90 to $175, depending on the event or workshop. Reservations are required. Proceeds will benefit the Cayman Islands National Recovery Funds and the Cayman AIDS Foundation.
