CAYMAN ISLANDS LAUNCHES
MAJOR POST-HURRICANE RENEWAL PROGRAM

Much of the Cayman Islands is brand new again, says Hon. Charles E. Clifford, JP, Minister of Tourism, Environment, Investment and Commerce. The major renewal program includes hotel properties, public landscaping and environmental conservation programs, including a parrot reserve in the Sister Islands.

New infrastructure includes a $26M redevelopment of The Port Authority for cruise visitors, a $50M redevelopment of the airports in Grand Cayman and Little Cayman, a redevelopment of the world's only turtle farm into a full underwater experience, called Boatswains Beach, and a one million dollar restoration of historic Pedro Castle.

New is the Cayman Craft Market, which offers a place along the George Town waterfront where visitors can browse live cultural exhibitions and buy local arts and crafts.
